These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Fountain Pen & Ink Identifier (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Important: the App provides informational identification and reference value guidance only. It does not provide certified appraisals, authenticity guarantees, or investment advice.

License and Acceptable Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer or misuse the App except where permitted by law.
• Use the App to infringe the rights of others or violate applicable laws.
• Attempt to bypass security, entitlement, or access controls.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use.

Results and Disclaimers

The App may identify fountain pens and inks, generate descriptive metadata, provide care suggestions, and show estimated value ranges. These outputs depend on the image provided and available reference context. We do not guarantee that any result is complete, accurate, authentic, or suitable for commercial decisions.

If you need an official valuation, authentication, or expert opinion, consult a qualified pen dealer, appraiser, or restoration specialist.

Purchases, Subscriptions, and Billing

The App offers optional paid features through Apple In-App Purchase. Prices may vary by region and tax treatment. Current US pricing is:

• Weekly Access: $4.99 (auto-renewing)
• Annual Access: $44.99 (auto-renewing)
• Lifetime Access: $49.99 (one-time purchase)

Billing and renewal

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Weekly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.

Trials, promotions, and refunds

If a free trial or promotional offer is available, the details are shown in the App or on the purchase sheet. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased. Refunds are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.

Lifetime purchase

The lifetime purchase is a non-transferable entitlement tied to the purchaser’s Apple account. We may update product features over time, but we intend to preserve equivalent core premium access for lifetime customers.

Cloud Processing and Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party infrastructure and services, including Firebase, OpenRouter, RevenueCat, and Apple. Images and related data may be processed through these services in order to generate results, maintain analysis history, and validate subscriptions. Your use of the App also remains subject to any relevant Apple terms and policies.

User Content

You are responsible for the images, notes, and other content you submit through the App. You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit and process that content. We do not claim ownership of your content, but you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the App.

Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, text, graphics, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, or data, arising from your use of the App. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App or its subscriptions, if any.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or if we discontinue the service. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date when material changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
